Questions

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. It uses your browser's built-in timezone rules, so dates in summer and winter use the right offset for each place. If you pick a time that's skipped when clocks go forward, or that happens twice when they go back, the page tells you which time it used.

Why does it say +1 day?

That place is already on the next calendar day (or still on the previous one, for −1) compared with the time you entered. It matters for meetings between India and the Americas or Australia.

How do I find India Standard Time?

It's listed as Kolkata (Asia/Kolkata), UTC+5:30, the IANA name for IST. India doesn't use daylight saving, so it's the same all year.

Is anything saved or sent?

No. Times are worked out in your browser, and your list of cities isn't stored, so it resets when you reload the page.

How accurate are the timezone rules?

They come from the IANA timezone database built into your browser and operating system, so keeping your browser up to date keeps them current. Governments sometimes change their rules at short notice.
