Questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. Cropping and resizing happen on your device, and the new image is saved straight from your browser.
What size is a passport photo?
Many countries, including India and the UK, use 35 × 45 mm, which is the 3.5:4.5 ratio here. Some forms also ask for exact pixels, such as 413 × 531 at 300 DPI; type those into the width and height after cropping. Always check the rules for your application.
Can I crop to any shape?
Crops are rectangles with a fixed ratio. Choose Custom and type any ratio, such as 5:2, if the preset ones don't fit.
Will making an image bigger add detail?
No. Enlarging spreads the same pixels over a bigger area, so it looks softer. Resizing down keeps it sharp.
Does it keep photo information?
No. The new image is drawn from the pixels, so EXIF data such as GPS location is not copied. Photos are turned the right way up first.
